General Overview:

This week's Torah reading, Vayikra, begins the third book of the Torah, Leviticus. Last week we completed the reading of the book of Exodus, which concluded with a description of the construction of the Tabernacle. This week's portion will provide a description of the various sacrifices – animal, fowl, and meal-offerings – offered by the priests in this newly constructed Sanctuary.

COLUMNISTS

The Moment of Shared Intimacy (By Lazer Gurkow)

Moses could have demanded entry into the Tabernacle, but he didn't. He humbly demurred. Ironically, it was only on account of his humility that he was invited to enter the Tabernacle.

Humility (By Aryeh Citron)

The chassidic masters explain that the more one is nullified before G-d, the more humble one becomes in the face of G-d's infinite greatness . . .

Just by Existing (By Rochel Holzkenner)

I'm pathetically biased, but I embrace my bias. I feel sated with pride, although my children haven't done anything uniquely successful or unusually brilliant—not yet. I wonder: is this the way G-d feels towards us?
